Dear friends, family and patrons of The Moon,

I’ve sat down to write this note several times over the last couple of weeks, and have struggled immensely every single time. It’s a bittersweet moment to reflect on the many incredible years we’ve had together, and I’m incredibly full of gratitude for all the support The Moon has received over those years. We will be closing the doors of our Mosque Street location on the 31st of January, 2022.

A little over three years has passed since The Moon landed in Chinatown, and in those years, we’ve built a thriving community of avid readers, writers, poets, journallers, artists, tarot enthusiasts and creative individuals of all sorts.

When I first had the idea for The Moon, all I wanted was to bring a sense of excitement, wonder and discovery through the experiences and products we offered. Whether that was through an inspiring conversation over chai, a book discovered on the shelves, or through an event attended, I had hoped that these experiences would inspire the desire to create.

The Moon has been a home to so many; several of you have gone from being customers, to collaborators and then friends. New books, poems, films, business ventures and relationships have been birthed here, and the knowledge of that impact has been deeply humbling and satisfying.

The Moon could not have become what it has without the dedication and support of our loyal customers, and for that I am forever grateful. The decision to move on from this beloved location has not been easy, but I am hopeful that the new year will bring new opportunities our way. Our online store will remain open and will continue to operate while we seek a new home.

Goodbyes are painful, but I hope we can reflect on the many, many good times we’ve had together and continue to be inspired by the memories. Thank you for being part of this amazing journey, we hope you will keep the spirit of discovery and creativity alive as we tread into the unknown.
