Sonder Soiree

Has 2018 been kind to you? Or should the question be "have I been kind to 2018"? As we pull out our fairy lights and dust our Christmas tree hidden in the far-end of our storage space, ready for the new year, it's about time to also slow down and self-care.
- - -

Sonder Soiree
/Sonder/ the realisation that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as one’s own.

This event has 2 parts for the night— the conversation segment (ticketed) and the shopping segment (free for all!).

Sonder Stories

Date: 8 December 2018
Time: 6.00PM - 7.30PM
Venue: The Moon, 37 Mosque Street
Ticket: $20 (early bird price**)
(15% of each ticket will go towards Beyond Social Services)

Join us in an evening of story-exchange that reflects, engages, and uplifts! Hear from 4 speakers on their journey blazing the path of do-good, and experience an evening of thoughtful conversations. We're bringing picnics indoors, filled with munchies, coffee, and tea! All that is left is you!

Here's a little sneak of our speakers for the night:
Speaker #1 - Nurul Jihadah, the ladyboss of The Codette Project, is on a mission to provide minority women with awareness and access to the tech industry to have a sustainable economic impact.

Speaker #2 - Lim Wei Jie, the founder of Foreword Coffee, is a social enterpreneur who uses specialty coffee to empower persons with disabilities and special needs (differently-abled persons) by providing employment and skills training in the F&B industry.

Speaker #3 - Raeesah Khan is an activist started the regional social enterprise, Reyna Movement, that aims to empower marginalized women and children through community engagement and upskilling programs. Her organisation works with marginilzed communities in Singapore and refugees in Malaysia providing them with education and support.

Speaker #4 - This volunteer has been dedicating their free time to Beyond Social Services, an organisation in Singapore that helps children and youths from less privileged backgrounds break away from the poverty cycle.

Speaker #5 - Nilushika (Nilu) Jayaweeera went against all odds to be the first woman entrepreneur to own and operate a tea business in Sri Lanka, Nilu Tea. After spending 16 years as a domestic helper in Singapore, she returned to her home country to start an e-commerce business selling a curated selection of premium teas.

Follow us on Instagram and Facebook (@sondersocial) for more details on each speaker (:

p.s. Each person will go home with a bag of #SeriouslyConsciousgoodies ;)
