The Yinside Yoga Workshop: For this two-hour yin yoga class, we’re gonna take it slow and deep, stretching all the way down to our souls. Whether you’re a seasoned yoga practitioner or totally new to yoga, this class has something for you. All postures are passive (read: not requiring muscular strength) and will be explained and accessible for every BODY. In Yin, we make the posture fit the body, not the other way around. Once you’ve got the right pose for you, it’s up to you how deep you want to take it.
We’ll talk about why everyone has poses that they can’t do (hint: it’s not because you’re not flexible enough) and explore all the ways Yin yoga is different to Yang styles such as Vinyasa and Hatha, including its different benefits. Yin gives us the time and stillness to observe the relationship between the body and the mind and can be very meditative. You’ll leave the class feeling more relaxed and open physically and mentally with a deeper understanding of you.
