Weekend Morning Flow

Description

15th May 2021, 9.30am-11am

Waking up and flowing through some sun salutations is a great way to set the tone for the day ahead. Doing yoga first thing in the morning increases energy and focus throughout the day. The purpose of yoga is to still the mind, so a morning yoga practice can quiet that mental chatter for more clarity. This 75-minute practice aims to help you start your day feeling strong and grounded.

What to expect and what’s in it for me?

This practice gives you everything you need when you want to give thanks to yourself. A strong flow to strengthen your entire body while emphasizing presence, contentment and gratitude. Build heat as you tone and cleanse your body with sun salutations, core work, arm strengthening, hip opening and twisting. While practicing, acknowledge and cultivate gratitude for your body, your practice and all of the people in your life.

Each session ends with a period of quiet guided reflection, that will help you focus your mind and become more sensitized to your inner workings, energy levels and intuition. Moving and breathing are preparatory exercises to help achieve this state, and over time help us enter meditation more directly.

Who is this for?

If you’re feeling a little bit overwhelmed, sometimes honouring yourself can be a challenge. This energizing yet introspective monthly practice is perfect for you to show up for yourself. All levels welcome.

What to bring?

Your yoga mat
Small towel
Journal & Pen for reflection

About the facilitator, Fatin Syahirah

"Yoga has been a big part of my life close to 10 years, and my practice has helped me grow stronger, be more flexible and fearless, on and off the mat. Through my practice, I have learnt to live each moment more mindfully. Trained in movement and performance from Bali and Singapore, I also completed my 200 hour Hatha Vinyasa training with Yoga Mala (SG). I will always be a student of the practice and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me. In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. I seek to help others thrive in live by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga, and my hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced."
